Del Frisco's Grille: A Steak-Lovers Paradise
Where is the best steakhouse in the Big Apple? For such a simple question, it can stir quite a fiery debate amongst New Yorkers who swear they’ve tasted heaven through slabs of meat. However, after trying a signature steak from Del Frisco’s Grille, you might have found the answer to the question above.

Del Frisco’s Grille is located in Rockefeller Plaza, just a few blocks away from their sibling restaurant, Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse. Make no mistake, while the vibe and menu is more casual, the food and experience at Del Frisco’s Grille is just as top notch, especially the service. The professional staff is knowledgeable and quite personable – each time I visit, I find myself having an engaging conversation with the waiter that seems to lasts for hours (I like to think it’s their way of figuring out what type of “steak person” I am to help me with my order).
The interior is spacious with a beautiful wine bottle selection on display in the back, as well as a bar strategically located within the restaurant to help create an energetic vibe inside.
What to Order?:
According to Executive Chef Scott Kroener, you generally have three kinds of steaks – the filet (for steak-lovers who prefer texture), the rib eye (for those who prefer flavor), and of course you have the strip steak, which is a perfect balance in-between. For us, we’re big fans of the Prime Rib eye, which is 16 oz of pure happiness. We suggest having it served medium-rare; the charred steak has a nice crust that develops a great flavor and “silky red interior” for the carnivores out there.

Before you dive straight into your steak, we also suggest ordering the Ahi Tuna Tacos to start – diced ahi tuna, marinated in citrus oil served in a fried won-ton which acts as the taco shell. Spicy mayo on top, guacamole in the bottom, the tacos are a great appetizer to share with a group of four.
You’ll notice a wood stone oven located next to the bar, in which delicious flatbreads are cooked and served from. If you want something light before your entree, order the roasted tomato flatbread for a scrumptious taste in every bite.
Why you should go:
Whether you’re looking for a place to host your friend’s birthday dinner or searching for a place to impress a client over lunch, Del Frisco’s Grille is the place to dine at. However, the last few times I’ve visited the restaurant was simply to enjoy some delicious steak with some awesome friends. We’ll argue and debate about which steakhouse is the best in New York, but at the end, we all agree that “life is good” after dining at Del Frisco’s Grille
